Embark on the trip-of-a-lifetime as Capsule Adventures goes to Nepal for the first time. This 12-day journey is timed so that we reach Annapurna Base Camp on Thanksgiving Day. Imagine spending the holiday watching sunrise over some of the highest peaks on planet earth?

Day 1

Arrive in Kathmandu

Touch down in Nepal’s lively capital surrounded by temples, prayer flags, and mountain air. Meet your group for a late-afternoon trek briefing followed by our welcome dinner.

Day 2

Day 2 image

Kathmandu to Pokhara

Enjoy a morning touring ancient cities and UNESCO world heritage highlights of the Kathmandu Valley (Swayambhu, Kathmandu Durbar Square).

In the late afternoon, we take short flight to the beautiful lakeside city of Pokhara. The Pokhara Valley offers a spectacular panorama of Nepal’s central Himalayas with Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre dominating the skyline.

Hiking Day 1: Pokhara to Chomrung

Our adventure begins today!
Drive along winding mountain roads to Jhinu Bridge, where our trek begins. Cross suspension bridges and climb stone steps to reach Chomrung (7,090 ft), a village perched above terraced hillsides.

Hiking Day 2: Chomrung to Bamboo

Today the trail descends steeply to the banks of the river Chomrung Khola. We cross over the river on a suspension bridge, then climb steeply through bamboo thickets leading to the small village of Sinuwa Danda. Here, the trail levels off and follows a ridge traveling through rhododendron and bamboo forests, always in view of the mountains.

Arrive in Bamboo (7,600 ft), surrounded by thick green groves and the distant echo of waterfalls.

Hiking Day 3: Bamboo to Himalaya Village

Follow the trail deeper into the sanctuary as the air cools and the trees thin. Reach Himalaya Village (9,350ft), tucked between cliffs and mist-shrouded peaks.

Hiking Day 4: Machhapuchhre Base Camp

Trek past cascading rivers and icy moraines as the mountains begin to tower above you. Along the way, we cross Hinku Cave and then make our way to Deruali with its wondrous rock cliffs lining both sides of the ridge.

Arrive at Machhapuchhre Base Camp (12,050 ft) beneath the striking “Fishtail” peak.

Day 7

Hiking Day 5: Thanksgiving at Annapurna Base Camp

Climb into the heart of the Himalayas on Thanksgiving morning, surrounded by the towering peaks of Annapurna and Machhapuchare. As you reach base camp (13,555ft) timed with the rising sun, gratitude will feel effortless in a place this vast and humbling. Celebrate the day with your crew beneath a sky filled with prayer flags, jagged peaks, and awe-filled silence.

Day 8

Hiking Day 6: Annapurna to Bamboo

Begin our long descent surrounded by receding views of the mountainous sanctuary. Return to the warmth of Bamboo and the comfort of lowland air.

Day 9

Day 9 image

Hiking Day 8: Bamboo to Jhinu Danda

Hike through forest trails back to Jhinu. After soaking the hot springs, we drive back to Pokhara for well-deserved hotel room and celebratory dinner. We did it!

Explore Pokhara

Wake to a peaceful lakeside morning and wander through cafés and craft stalls. Optional adventures await, from yoga to paragliding to boating on Phewa Lake.

Day 11

Back to Kathmandu

Wake up to sunrise on Fishtail, Annapurna South and Hiunchuli. This morning, we will take a flight back to Kathmandu.

Upon reaching Kathmandu, we will drive to Boudhanath Stupa. After Boudhanath Stupa, we will drive to Patan Durbar Square.

Spend the rest of the evening exploring markets or relaxing before our farewell dinner.
